A Look Back at LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Mania! 2006

LEGO MINDSTORMS Mania! 2006 was a huge success, with more than 1,000 Austinites flooding the University of Texas Union Ballroom on Saturday, May 6th, to celebrate student achievement with technology at the sixth annual LEGO MINDSTORMS Mania! After a year of hard work in the classroom with teachers and NI engineering mentors, more than 400 Central Texas students gathered with their teachers, family, and friends to showcase their original LEGO robots for the community.

Dr. Meyer, UT College of Engineering, and Dr. Truchard, National Instruments, kicked off the event with encouraging words for the students. While addressing the importance of students seeking engineering degrees, Dr. T. emphasized the fun and excitement of science and engineering careers. Dr. Meyer encouraged students to follow their natural curiosity and explore the world around them.

A Big Thanks to our 2006 LEGO MINDSTORMS Mania! Participants

32 Austin-area classes, from the following schools, showcased more than 60 unique robots.
