LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Mania! is The University of Texas College of Engineering's annual celebration of students' robotics achievements and teachers' dedication to finding new ways to engage students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Over the past seven years, we have watched this exciting event grow dramatically, and this year, we are pleased to recognize the accomplishments of more than two dozen DTEAChers from 21 schools in eight Central Texas districts.
Since 1999, the Design Technology and Engineering for America’s Children (DTEACh) program has helped more than 380 Central Texas educators discover new ways to integrate cutting-edge technology into their curricula through the DTEACh Robotics and Automation Summer Institutes. Participants in this innovative program have learned to use the engineering design process and LEGO MINDSTORMS technology to help thousands of Central Texas students bring robotic inventions to life.
Please join us on May 12 as we celebrate the innovation and initiative of Central Texas teachers and students. Events like LEGO MINDSTORMS Mania! are an important part of a process that encourages students to continue their pursuit of solutions to science and engineering problems. With the United States facing a critical shortage of engineers in the years to come, our support of these young people is more important than ever.
LEGO MINDSTORMS Mania! 2007 is presented by the UT College of Engineering with support from National Instruments and the Texas Computer Education Association.
